If you’re dreaming of a Floida beach engagement session with soft golden light, white sand, and a breathtaking sunset, Sand Key Park in Clearwater, Florida is hard to beat. It’s one of my favorite locations for engagement photos, and this session was a perfect reminder of why! Someone pinch me because I still can’t believe I do this for a living?!?!?!

These two have been together since high school, and after spending just a few minutes with them, it was obvious that they’re not only best friends—they’re each other’s biggest source of joy. Their relationship was effortless, playful, and full of laughter, making this one of my favorite engagement sessions I’ve ever photographed!

There’s something special about photographing couples who have grown up together. These two have years of memories, inside jokes, and shared adventures behind them, and that comfort with one another showed in every single photo.

We spent the evening walking along the beach, laughing, talking, and playing. Their fun personalities made the session feel easy and relaxed – which is exactly how I want my couples to feel in front of the camera. I intentionally used a variety of prompts that created natural smiles and movement that didn’t feel forced. Dancing, frolicking, running – anything to make it fun!

I love that they trusted my vision when I told them to wear white or neutral colors with khaki or denim. It fit the casual, relaxed vibe perfectly! I love a pop of color, but you can never go wrong with this color palette at the beach. The colors photograph so nicely against the blue water, sand, rocks, and sunset!

Sand Key will always be one of my favorite locations because it offers sooo much variety. The greenery, the palm trees, the water, the rocks – there’s so much space to explore. It’s definitely a popular location for other photographers, but it never feels too crowded because of all the space.
